Grandparents and Generations Day

Grandparents Day will be held on March 23, 2018 between 9:30am and 11:30am.

We are looking for volunteers to help make this very special day a big success.  Please click here to sign up and volunteer! Thanks for your help!

RSVP Please print and return bottom of the attached flier by March 20, 2018:     GRANDPARENTSDAYFLIERINFO

REMINDER:  If your visitor for Grandparents’/Generations’ Day has not ever had their license scanned, they will have to have their license scanned when they arrive for our event on Friday, March 23rd.  We must adhere to this BCPS Safety and Security Policy to ensure our children, faculty and staff are safe.  The original flyer that went home allowed for guests to list their name and license number, this does not replace the need for scanning the license.  We are able to retrieve your information only if you have already been scanned into our building.  (If you have been scanned at other schools, you will still have to be scanned at our school.)  All visitors to our building must have their license scanned, there are no exceptions.  I know this may be an inconvenient and could potentially result in waiting in line the morning of the event.  We are offering the option of visiting school this week during normal office hours or during our additional after school hours to provide our guests with the opportunity to be scanned in prior to the event.

Visitors are welcome to stop by during regular office hours, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm any day this week or next week to have their license scanned.  We will also have after office hours in the evenings on the following days.

  • Monday, March 19th – 4:00 to 7:00 pm
  • Tuesday, March 20th – 4:00 to 7:00 pm
  • Wednesday, March 21st – 4:00 to 7:00 pm
  • Thursday, March 22nd 4:00 to 8:30 pm

Again, we are happy to scan licenses or picture ID’s (from the MVA) during these additional hours to help alleviate a long wait to be scanned in on the morning of the event.  As always we appreciate you partnering with us to ensure the safety of our children.  This year we will also be offering a shuttle bus from the Redeemer Lutheran Church located at 20440 Downes Road, Parkton, MD 21120.  The shuttle will begin running at 8:30 am from the parking lot and will drop off at Seventh District.  The morning shuttle will continue until 9:30 am.  The return shuttle will begin running from Seventh District to the parking lot at 11:00 am with the final run taking place at 12:00 noon.

Warm Regards,

Heather Denmyer, Principal
