AvalancheXpress is a fun place to snow tube, ice skate, and more!  They are offering a group discount to anyone who presents the attached voucher, and will also donate $5 per person back to 7th District!

January 18th-19th…Ledo's Pizza Spirit Night from 5-9pm!  Ledo's pizza will donate 20% of their profits for the evening back to 7DE on eat in or carry out dining.  The class that has the most participation will recive a free pizza party!  

January 19th…Dress like a Teacher Day!  This kicks off the Shoes2Share program, where the SGA will be collecting shoes to donate to those in need.  Shoes will be collected through February 24th.  

January 23rd…7DE Day at AvalancheXpress!  Looking for something to do since school is closed?  Why not snow tubing and ice skating at AvalancheXpress? They will be offering a special group discount to our 7DE families on January 23rd and will donate $5 per person back to our school!  A ticket voucher will be sent out later in the week.  Please print the voucher and take it with you to ensure that you recive the group rate.  http://avalanchexpress.com

January 24th…Race for Education Meeting @ 3:20!  Its time to gear up for the Race for Education!  This Walk a Thon technology fundraiser will be held on March 30th.  Awesome prizes and activities are being planned…join the Race team to help!  Childcare will be provided for the meeting-please RSVP to Jenn Gillispie at jennifergillispie@verizon.net so that we can have a head count.

January 26th…Winter Book Club!   On January 26, 2012, Mrs. Nestor and Mrs. Simonetta will be discussing Dan Gutman’s The Genius Files:  Mission Unstoppable.   If you are interested in joining us, you may purchase the book online, at a local bookstore, or borrow the book from the public  library.   There is a registration form available on the January newsletter on the school website (http://schools.bcps.org/schools/ces/seventhdistrict/calendar-newsletter.html)  We will be meeting in the library from 7:00 p.m.—8:00 p.m

The Deadline for all Reflections submissions is this week!  Reflections is a PTA sponsored contest supporting the arts.  This year’s theme is “Diversity Means…”  A purple packet was sent home outlining the details of this program; many opportunities exist to celebrate our children!  Questions?  Please contact Heather Crowe at hcrowe@towson.edu or see the "Documents" section of our website for a downloadable flyer.

There's a lot going on at 7DE!

The Book Fair continues all week, with Family Nights tonight  and Friday from 6:30-8 pm.  You can also purchase online by using this link:  www.scholastic.com/schoolbookfairs.  The online sale is open through November 1st.  All book ship for free, directly to school.  Please share this link with family and friends!  We are always looking for colunteers-please email Beth Amos at wesbeth@comcast.net if you can help at the Book Fair!

If you ordered Spirit Wear, we are currently processing all of the items and they will be delivered to you asap!  We are using a new vendor and working out the kinks in their delivery process.  :)  Thanks for your patience.

Dont forget about the Fall Dance on Friday 10/28 from 6:30-9pm!  Students, families, and friends are welcome.  Wear your costume and come for fun activities, a talent show, music, dancing, food, and a fun family night.  Please, no drop offs-parent supervision is required.

Its Red Ribbon Week, celebrating 7DE being a drug free school!  Finish out this week by wearing red, white and blue on Thursday and by wearing spirit wear or our school colors (blue and gold) on Friday!

This year’s 7DE Fall Book Fair will be held from October 24^th-28^th from 8:30-3:30.  Please watch for your child’s wish list to come home, detailing the books that they loved!  Parent Nights will be held on Wed. 10/26 from 6:30-8:30 as well as during the Fall Dance on 10/28. 

We are looking for volunteers who can help children create their wish lists, look for books, and check out.  Help is needed on the following days:

        Monday 10/24 1:00-2:55

        Tuesday 10/25 1:00-2:55

        Wednesday 10/26 1:00-2:55, 6:30-8:30 pm

        Thursday 10/27 All Day

        Friday 10/28 6:30-8:30 pm

NEW THIS YEAR…ONLINE ORDERING!  Please visit www.scholastic.com/schoolbookfairs, and feel free to share this link with friends and family.   The online Book Fair is available for an extended time from Thursday, October 20^th to Tuesday, November 1^st.

Please join us for a 7DE Spirit Night at the Shewsbury Chick-Fil-A, Wednesday September 21st from 5-8pm!  Place your reciept in the box to make your visit count for our school, or, if using the drive through, ask the cashier to do so.  Chick-Fil-A will donate 20% of all purchases to our Technology Fund!

We hope to see you at 7DE's Back to School Night on Tuesday September 13th!

Volunteer Training will take place at 6:30 in the library, and the main event will begin in the cafeteria at 7:00pm.  We will vote to approve the PTA budget and give you an update on our plans for the year!

The school will hold two information sessions so that you can visit multiple classrooms. There will also be opportunities to sign up for PTA membership if you have not already done so.

We will also be unveiling a limited selection of our brand new SPIRIT WEAR!  Cash or check accepted-we will be set up in various locations around the school and modular building.
