On May 20th, we will be holding our first ever Doe Dash 5k and 1 mile Fawn Run!

When: Sunday, May 20th
Where: Bentley Springs trailhead of NCR trail

Cost: Fawns- $2.00 each, Does- $5.00 each

Please click here to see the registration form:  Doe Dash/Fawn Run Registration Form

FAQ's

Q: Are participants permitted to run either distance?

A: Yes!  Does’ may dash for 1 mile, and Fawns may dash the 5K.  The distance is up to each participant.

Q: Are older/younger Fawns able to participate?

A: Yes!  This is a family event, so bring the whole herd!

Q: Are Bucks able to participate?

A: Sure!  We would love to see the Bucks supporting the herd in every capacity (running or otherwise).

Q: I know Bentley Springs has limited parking.  What are the parking arrangements?

A: We encourage carpooling from 7th District.  Bentley is very close to the 7th District parking lot.

Q: Will I be able to register at the race, or must I pre-register?

A: We strongly encourage pre-registration so that we can get an idea of the number of deer planning to attend.  Since this is the first year for this event, we are not sure how many deer are interested.  You will be able to register on race day as well.

Q: Will I be permitted to participate if I am grumpy?

A: Yes, however, all grumpy, surly, and otherwise uncooperative deer will be required to dance the Cupid Shuffle in front of the group prior to the start of the dash.

If you have other questions, please email Heather Crowe at hcrowe@towson.edu.  Thanks to Heather and her team for coordinating this event!

PTA Elections

Every year, the PTA hold elections for the Executive Board positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.  A flyer regarding these elections was distributed in March.  Click here to see the flyer:  Nomination Form

We have also amended our PTA bylaws to include multiple people at the Vice President and Secretary positions for the 2012-2013 school year and beyond!  We hope that this will serve to bring more voices to the cause of making 7DE a great place to be for our children.

The current slate of officers for the 2012-2013 school year is as follows:

President:  VACANT

Vice President:  Jenn Gillispie, 2ND VP VACANT

Treasurer:  Nick Hollander

Secretary:  Jody Eber, Stacy Knight

Due to a medical issue, our current president, Jenn Gillispie will be stepping down to the Vice President's role.  We are in need of people to fill the other vacant roles to completely and correctly run our PTA.  What do these jobs entail?

President:  Presides over PTA meetings and coordinates the efforts of  committees and volunteers

Vice President:  Aides the President, presides over meetings in their absence; organizes and communicates with volunteers

As a board, we work together to make decisions and plans-no one is alone in this process!

This is your chance to have a direct impact on your child's education; to direct where funding is spent, to interact with teachers and staff in a partnership for our children, and to be a part of building our community.

We plan to approve this new, and hopefully full slate of officers, as well as the updates to our bylaws, during an upcoming May event.

Please consider joining the executive board and email us at seventhdistrictpta@gmail.com.  No experience required, just a desire to come together to better our community!
